GET A QUOTEAlloy 310/310S woven wire, UNS S31000/UNS31008 woven wire mesh is an austenitic stainless steel wire mesh specially developed for the use in high temperature corrosion resistant environment. This alloy can resist oxidation up to 2010℉(1100℃) under mildly cyclic conditions.
Due to its moderate nickel and its high chromium content, Alloy 310 woven wire mesh is resistant to sulfidation and can also be used in moderately carburizing atmospheres.
Alloy 310 wire mesh can be used in slightly oxidizing, nitriding and thermal cycling environments and cryogenic applications with low magnetic permeability and toughness down to -450℉(-268℃).
When grade 310 stainless steel is heated between 1202-1742℉(650-950℃) the alloy is subject to sigma phase precipitation. A solution annealing treatment at 2012-2102℉(1100- 1150℃) will restore a degree of toughness.
In common with other austenitic stainless steel materials, alloy 310 stainless steel can’t be hardened by heat treatment. This alloy can be hardened by cold work, but this is rarely practiced.
