GET A QUOTENickel Alloy 625 wire mesh, also known by its brand name Inconel® 625 wire mesh, UNS N06625 wire mesh, or W.Nr. 2.4856 wire mesh, is a nickel-chromium alloy with an addition of molybdenum for outstanding resistance to reduction and other forms of high-temperature corrosion, servicing temperatures range from cryogenic to 1800°F (982°C).
The high content of nickel elements plays a very important role in corrosion resistance, even though Inconel 625 has a lower content of nickel elements than Inconel 600, both of them are very excellent corrosion-resistant alloys. Alloy 625 has a higher chromium content which is the main element of the alloy's oxidation resistance. Therefore, Inconel 625 wire mesh has better antioxidant capacity than Inconel 600 wire mesh.
Alloy 625 wire mesh contains more than 8% molybdenum, which makes alloy 625 also have a certain resistance to reduction which is not available in Alloy 600. Therefore, Inconel 625 wire mesh obviously has better comprehensive corrosion resistance than Inconel 600.
Similar to molybdenum, the extra content of niobium and tantalum also improves the mechanical properties of alloy 625 woven wires.
Alloy 625 is strictly controlled by the content of impurity elements, such as phosphorus and manganese. The large content of phosphorus may lead to the precipitation of harmful phases, thereby affecting the properties of the alloy. And manganese in high-temperature alloys will reduce the creep performance. Therefore, Inconel 625 wire mesh, which has a higher purity than alloy 600 would also perform better than alloy 600 wire mesh.
