GET A QUOTEUNS S31803 wire mesh is also known as Duplex stainless 2205 wire mesh and W.Nr 1.4462 wire mesh, which is made of a duplex grade stainless steel wire with a ferritic-austenitic microstructure.
This duplex microstructure ensures that stainless steel 2205 / UNS S31803 is much more resistant to crevice corrosion, chloride pitting and stress corrosion cracking as compared to SS304, SS316L and 317L, due to its high chromium and molybdenum content.
This alloy consists of around 40%-50% ferrite in the annealed condition, which ensures the material a high strength whilst retaining the corrosion resistance of the austenitic grades, hence the 'duplex' description.
This alloy has outstanding corrosion resistance to seawater and most concentrations of sulphuric acid. In addition, it is also resistant to sulphide stress corrosion cracking.
As a cost-effective duplex stainless steel wire mesh, UNS S31803/2205 stainless steel mesh is used for a wide range of applications.
Features of UNS.31803 Stainless Steel Wire Mesh
-High resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking
-Resistance to chloride pitting and crevice corrosion
-Good general corrosion resistance
-Good sulfide stress corrosion resistance
-High Strength
-Good weldability and workability
