WHAT IS A DECORATIVE METAL MESH PANEL?

Any metal mesh that is designed and produced for architectural and decoration purchase can be defined as a decorative metal mesh panel.

This decor metal mesh is not limited to those mesh panels made by weaving. Other types of wire meshes including welded wires, knitted wire meshes, perforated decorative meshes, or laser cut decorative screens can also be clarified as decor metal mesh.

Basically, any metal screen made into mesh structures can be called decor mesh. But, in order to achieve the decorative requirements, premium metallic raw materials are always needed in decor mesh fabrication, including stainless steel, aluminum, copper alloy, and other alloys.

EXPLANATION of ARCHITECTURAL WIRE MESH PATTERN: METART-WW50-31417

"WW50" - our woven wire series, number 50

“31417” is an extract of the major specification, indicating a nominal 3x1mm wire strip, with a 4mm small opening and 17mm big square hole.

The 3x1mm wire strips are pre-crimped to an overall thickness of 3.7mm.

Both the warp wires and weft wires are the same specification, they are woven up to form a 17x17mm opening. During the weaving process, the operator of the machines has to insert small flat wires 1.4x0.45mm diagonally to create this intricate weaving pattern.

PROS AND CONS OF "METART-WW50-31417" DECORATIVE WIRE PATTERN

METART-WW50-31417 is a beautiful decorative woven wire mesh pattern, featuring a complex weaving pattern. It is favored by a lot of interior designers and architects. But it also has its obvious drawbacks.

Based on its design, it can be only made from stainless steel, including AISI 304 grade, AISI 316 marine grade stainless steel, and budget friendly option SS201 grade. 

The reason we don't recommend other metal alloys is that the mesh structure is not as rigid as other decorative wire mesh patterns. As this is made by deep crimped stainless steel wire strips, the weaving of the screen is not that tight. So that, without being framed, even if it is made of stainless steel, the wire mesh still feels soft and slacking. If it is made from softer metals like copper, brass, or aluminum, the wire mesh structure would be even softer.

But, after being framed, the slacking problem won't exist anymore.
