Unveiling the "METART-WW32" Decorative Metal Mesh Design

This metal mesh is always made of stainless steel for elevator cabin decoration, bespoke stainless steel door infill panels, or other commercial wall claddings.

The round wires, with a nominal diameter of 2mm, underwent an intricate rolling process through well-designed tooling to have a decorative flat surface and an oval look. The rolled metal wires are connected by a 1.5mm nominal wire rod, pre-straightened before weaving.

However, the straightened wires partially cover the decorative oval surfaces, forming a metal sheet-like smooth surface on both sides, similar to decorative metals with an etched finish.

About This Vintage Finish

This specially designed antique copper-plated finish on stainless steel offers a unique aesthetic appeal, as showcased in the exhibited item in the pictures, which was made of 304-grade stainless steel.

The overall appearance of this decorative metal mesh surface gives the impression of being aged, with a blackish hue that nearly encompasses the entire area of the screen panels.

However, antique copper oval parts sporadically emerge, adding a delightful contrast to the dark background.

There is no fixed pattern for this finish, emphasizing its niche quality.

It is particularly suited for those who appreciate archaic vibes and seek to incorporate a sense of history and charm into their interior decorations.

Creating this irregular pattern of antique finish is a meticulous process that requires careful control during the weaving stage.

It begins with pre-crimping procedures, where we make relatively shallower crimps sporadically, allowing some of the surfaces to be mechanically lifted after weaving.

This controlled lifting is very crucial as it sets the foundation for the special antique finish.

Once the weaving is complete, the metal screen undergoes copper plating and then an antique plating layer, further enhancing its aesthetics.

Following this, we implement an additional brush polishing procedure.

During this step, the lifted oval surfaces receive more polishing than the overall lower surfaces, which enhances the difference in texture and shine.

The result is a truly unique vintage copper finish that showcases both depth and character, making each piece distinct.
